Senior Electrical Design Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join their innovative team based in Sunderland, Tyne and Wear . You will lead design efforts, mentor junior engineers, and collaborate closely with other departments to bring complex projects to fruition. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of complex electrical systems, ensuring adherence to specifications, safety standards, and performance requirements.
• Create detailed electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, P&ID diagrams, and component datasheets using specialized software.
• Conduct thorough feasibility studies and technical reviews to identify optimal design solutions and potential challenges.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including mechanical, software, and manufacturing engineers, throughout the product development lifecycle.
• Oversee prototype development, testing, and validation of electrical designs, troubleshooting issues as they arise.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and knowledge sharing.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 6 years of hands-on experience in electrical design and engineering, with a focus on system architecture.
• Proficiency in industry-standard electrical design tools and simulation software (e.g., PSpice, MATLAB/Simulink, AutoCAD Electrical).
• In-depth knowledge of power electronics, control systems, instrumentation, and embedded systems design.
• Strong understanding of relevant industry standards, regulations, and safety protocols.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and strong communication skills.
