About the Role
Our client seeks a motivated and experienced Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join their thriving engineering department in Leeds . This role is integral to delivering state-of-the-art electrical solutions for a diverse range of commercial and industrial projects. You will be expected to contribute significantly to the design process, mentor junior engineers, and ensure the highest standards of technical quality and project delivery. Working within a hybrid model, you will collaborate effectively with both on-site and remote colleagues, contributing to a culture of innovation and excellence within a well-established firm.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, and control circuits, from concept to completion.
- Produce detailed electrical drawings, schematics, and specifications using relevant design software.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable building regulations, industry standards, and safety protocols.
- Collaborate with project managers, architects, and other engineers to integrate electrical designs seamlessly.
- Conduct site inspections and provide technical support during the installation and commissioning phases.
- Review and approve electrical designs submitted by contractors and suppliers.
Requirements
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
- Minimum 6 years of professional experience in electrical design engineering, with a focus on building services or infrastructure.
- Proficiency in electrical design software such as AutoCAD, Revit MEP, or similar.
- Solid understanding of low voltage systems, power factor correction, and earthing requirements.
- Experience in managing design documentation and technical queries.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a hybrid team setting.
