Senior Electrical Design Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking an accomplished Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join their established team in Bristol . This role is instrumental in developing and delivering high-performance electrical systems for a wide array of projects, from conceptualization through to successful implementation. You will take a leading role in design challenges, ensuring technical integrity and innovative solutions are provided to clients. The position offers a chance to work with a dedicated team of professionals committed to engineering excellence and client satisfaction within the South West region.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design of electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, safety systems, and renewable energy integration.
• Develop detailed electrical drawings, schematics, specifications, and technical reports using advanced CAD software.
• Ensure strict adherence to all relevant building regulations, safety standards, and industry best practices.
• Collaborate closely with project managers, architects, and external consultants to achieve project objectives.
• Provide essential technical support during the construction phase, including site inspections and troubleshooting.
• Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering skill development and best practice adoption.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• A minimum of 7 years of professional experience in electrical design engineering, with a strong portfolio of completed projects.
• In-depth knowledge of power systems, control systems, and instrumentation.
• Proficiency with industry-standard electrical design and analysis software (e.g., AutoCAD, ETAP).
• Proven experience in project coordination and technical leadership.
• Chartered Engineer status (e.g., CEng) or demonstrable progress towards it is highly advantageous.
