Senior Electrical Design Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join their expanding team in Leeds . This role involves conceptualizing and developing detailed electrical designs for a range of innovative products and systems. You will be instrumental in translating requirements into robust, efficient, and cost-effective electrical solutions, working closely with manufacturing and R&D teams. Key Responsibilities

• Develop detailed electrical schematics, wiring diagrams , and component layouts for new and existing products.
• Specify and select appropriate electrical components, ensuring compliance with performance, cost, and reliability requirements.
• Collaborate with PCB layout engineers to ensure optimal design for manufacturing and assembly.
• Perform design validation and verification testing, troubleshooting issues and implementing necessary design modifications.
• Create and maintain comprehensive design documentation , including bills of materials (BOMs), test procedures, and user manuals.
• Support the manufacturing team during production, addressing any electrical-related issues that may arise.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in electrical design and development.
• Strong proficiency in schematic capture and PCB design software (e.g., Altium Designer, Eagle).
• Solid understanding of analog and digital circuit design principles and microcontrollers.
• Experience with testing and troubleshooting electronic circuits and systems.
• Excellent documentation and communication skills, with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to quality.
