About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly competent Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join their progressive team in Brighton . This role is focused on the end-to-end design of electrical systems for innovative products and projects, blending creativity with technical precision. You will be responsible for leading design efforts, mentoring junior engineers, and ensuring the successful delivery of complex electrical solutions that meet challenging performance criteria. This position offers a blend of office-based collaboration and remote flexibility, allowing for effective project management and team interaction in a vibrant coastal city.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the electrical design process, from conceptualisation through to detailed design, prototyping, and testing.
- Develop comprehensive electrical schematics, PCB layouts, and system integration plans.
- Specify and source electrical components, ensuring technical suitability and cost-effectiveness.
- Conduct design reviews, risk assessments, and performance analyses to guarantee product reliability and safety.
- Collaborate closely with software, mechanical, and firmware engineers to achieve integrated product development.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to a team of electrical engineers in the Brighton area.
Requirements
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical design, with a strong portfolio of completed projects.
- Proficiency in ECAD software (e.g., Altium Designer, KiCad) and simulation tools.
- In-depth knowledge of analogue, digital, and power electronics.
- Experience with embedded systems and microcontroller-based designs.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a hybrid team environment.
