Senior Electrical Design Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a talented Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join their dynamic engineering team in Wolverhampton . You will be responsible for the electrical design of various projects, ensuring compliance with all relevant standards and regulations. This role involves close collaboration with project managers, architects, and other engineering disciplines to deliver high-quality, innovative electrical solutions. You will have the opportunity to lead design efforts, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to the successful execution of projects across a range of sectors, playing a key role in shaping the electrical infrastructure of future developments.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop detailed electrical designs, including power distribution, lighting, and low-voltage systems.
• Prepare electrical specifications, schematic diagrams , and calculations using industry-standard software.
• Conduct site surveys and inspections to gather project requirements and verify installations.
• Ensure designs comply with relevant building regulations, IET Wiring Regulations, and other applicable standards.
• Manage electrical design aspects of projects, coordinating with other disciplines and contractors.
• Provide technical expertise and supervision to junior electrical engineers and technicians.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in electrical design engineering .
• Proficiency with CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical, Revit MEP) and electrical design tools.
• Thorough knowledge of BS 7671 (IET Wiring Regulations) and other relevant standards.
• Experience with load calculations , power system analysis, and lighting design.
• Strong project management and communication skills.
