Senior Electrical Design Engineer

About the Role

Our client, a renowned consultancy specializing in innovative building solutions, seeks a highly experienced Senior Electrical Design Engineer for their expanding Liverpool office. This role will involve leading the design of sophisticated electrical systems for a diverse portfolio of projects, including commercial, healthcare, and educational facilities. You will be responsible for ensuring that designs are technically sound, cost-effective, and meet client requirements while adhering to all relevant codes and standards. This is a pivotal position for an engineer looking to influence project outcomes and mentor a team within a progressive organisation.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the electrical design process for complex building projects, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
• Develop detailed electrical design documentation, including drawings, specifications, and calculations for lighting, power, and distribution.
• Manage project deliverables, timelines, and coordinate effectively with other disciplines (structural, mechanical, architectural).
• Conduct site visits for inspections, surveys, and to provide technical support during the construction phase.
• Mentor and guide junior engineers and technicians within the electrical design team.
• Engage with clients, contractors, and project stakeholders to ensure successful project outcomes.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering .
• Substantial experience (7+ years) in electrical design engineering, preferably within the building services sector.
• Proficiency in using industry-standard design software such as AutoCAD, Revit MEP, and DIALux.
• In-depth knowledge of electrical installation standards, building codes, and safety regulations.
• Experience with power distribution systems, UPS, emergency lighting, and fire alarm systems.
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
