Senior Electrical Design Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a seasoned Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join their innovative team in Bristol . This role is critical for leading the electrical design aspects of major engineering projects, from conceptualization through to detailed design and implementation. You will be responsible for ensuring the technical excellence and viability of electrical systems, working closely with project teams and stakeholders to deliver successful outcomes. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of complex electrical systems for industrial, commercial, or infrastructure projects.
• Create detailed electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and control system designs using CAD software.
• Perform load calculations, voltage drop analyses, and fault current studies.
• Specify electrical equipment, materials, and components, ensuring compliance with relevant standards.
• Conduct design reviews and provide technical guidance to junior engineers and design teams.
• Collaborate with site engineers and contractors to ensure successful project installation and commissioning.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field; Chartered Engineer status is a plus.
• Over 8 years of experience in electrical design engineering, with a strong portfolio of completed projects.
• Expertise in using electrical CAD software (e.g., Revit MEP, AutoCAD Electrical).
• In-depth knowledge of power distribution systems, low and high voltage equipment, and control systems.
• Familiarity with relevant UK and international electrical standards (e.g., BS 7671).
• Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
