About the Role
Our client is seeking a seasoned Senior Electrical Engineer to lead their building services division in Leeds . This role involves the comprehensive design and management of electrical systems for a wide array of commercial, industrial, and residential developments. You will play a key role in ensuring that projects meet the highest standards of safety, efficiency, and regulatory compliance. Working within a reputable consultancy, you will have the opportunity to influence project outcomes from conception to completion, collaborating with architects, M&E consultants, and construction teams to deliver state-of-the-art building solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop detailed electrical designs for building services, including power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, and security systems.
- Perform load calculations, circuit designs, and ensure compliance with BS 7671 and CIBSE guidelines.
- Produce CAD drawings , specifications, and tender documentation.
- Conduct site inspections and monitor the quality of electrical installations during construction.
- Lead and mentor a team of electrical engineers and technicians, fostering a collaborative work environment.
- Engage with clients and stakeholders to understand project needs and provide expert advice.
Requirements
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent qualification.
- Substantial experience (8+ years) in building services electrical design .
- In-depth knowledge of electrical regulations, standards (e.g., BS 7671), and best practices in construction.
- Proficiency in BIM and relevant electrical design software packages.
- Experience in managing projects and leading engineering teams.
- Excellent client-facing and communication skills.
