Senior Electrical Engineer - Grid Connections

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to join their dedicated team, focusing on grid connections for renewable energy projects. This is a fully remote position, allowing you to contribute to vital national infrastructure development from anywhere in the UK. You will play a key role in the technical assessment, design, and implementation of grid connection solutions, ensuring seamless integration of new power sources into the electricity network. Working closely with grid operators, developers, and internal stakeholders, you will be instrumental in facilitating the UK's transition to a sustainable energy future. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed electrical design and technical studies for grid connection projects.
• Develop specifications for electrical equipment, substations, and interconnection systems.
• Liaise with grid operators and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with connection standards and requirements.
• Manage the technical aspects of grid connection applications and approvals processes.
• Perform power system analysis , including load flow, fault level, and stability studies.
• Provide expert technical support and guidance throughout the project lifecycle, from feasibility to commissioning.
• Mentor and guide junior engineers on technical matters related to grid connections.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline with a specialization in Power Systems.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in electrical engineering , with a significant focus on grid connections or transmission and distribution networks.
• In-depth knowledge of grid codes, power system protection, and high-voltage equipment.
• Proficiency with power system analysis software (e.g., PSS/E, PowerFactory DIgSILENT).
• Experience in managing technical aspects of grid connection projects and stakeholder engagement.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, suited for remote work.
