Senior Electrical Engineer - Marine Systems

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Electrical Engineer with expertise in Marine Systems to join their remote team. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and specification of electrical power systems, distribution networks, and control systems for marine applications.
• Develop detailed electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and equipment specifications compliant with maritime standards (e.g., Lloyds Register, DNV).
• Perform analysis of electrical systems, including power management, load balancing, and fault studies.
• Collaborate with naval architects, system engineers, and project managers to integrate electrical systems seamlessly into vessel designs.
• Oversee the procurement, installation support, and commissioning of electrical equipment onboard.
• Troubleshoot complex electrical issues and provide technical solutions remotely.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Substantial experience (7+ years) in marine electrical engineering, with a strong focus on ship systems.
• Proficiency in marine electrical standards, classification society rules, and relevant technologies.
• Experience with power management systems, propulsion controls, and navigation interfaces.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, essential for remote collaboration.
• Familiarity with CAD software for electrical design.
