About the Role
Our client is seeking a seasoned Senior Electrical Engineer with specialized knowledge in power distribution to join their esteemed team in Sheffield . This role is essential for the design, development, and maintenance of reliable and efficient electrical distribution networks across various commercial and industrial applications. You will be responsible for ensuring the integrity of the power supply, implementing innovative solutions to meet evolving energy demands, and upholding the highest safety and quality standards. Key Responsibilities
- Lead the electrical design of low and medium voltage power distribution systems, including substations, switchgear, and distribution networks.
- Develop detailed electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, load calculations, and cable sizing reports.
- Specify and select appropriate electrical equipment and components, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and project requirements.
- Conduct electrical studies such as fault level analysis, protection coordination, and voltage drop calculations.
- Oversee the installation, testing, and commissioning of power distribution systems, ensuring safe and efficient operation.
- Liaise with clients, project managers, and site personnel to ensure successful project delivery and provide technical expertise.
Requirements
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in the design and engineering of power distribution systems.
- Strong understanding of low voltage and medium voltage equipment , including transformers, switchgear, and protection devices.
- Proficiency in electrical design software, such as AutoCAD, ETAP, or similar tools.
- Knowledge of relevant electrical codes, standards, and regulations (e.g., BS 7671).
- Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and effective communication abilities.
