Senior Electrical Engineer - Power Distribution

About the Role

Our client is seeking a seasoned Senior Electrical Engineer with specialized knowledge in power distribution to join their esteemed team in Sheffield . Key Responsibilities

• Lead the electrical design of low and medium voltage power distribution systems, including substations, switchgear, and distribution networks.
• Develop detailed electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, load calculations, and cable sizing reports.
• Specify and select appropriate electrical equipment and components, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and project requirements.
• Conduct electrical studies such as fault level analysis, protection coordination, and voltage drop calculations.
• Oversee the installation, testing, and commissioning of power distribution systems, ensuring safe and efficient operation.
• Liaise with clients, project managers, and site personnel to ensure successful project delivery and provide technical expertise.

Requirements

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in the design and engineering of power distribution systems.
• Strong understanding of low voltage and medium voltage equipment , including transformers, switchgear, and protection devices.
• Proficiency in electrical design software, such as AutoCAD, ETAP, or similar tools.
• Knowledge of relevant electrical codes, standards, and regulations (e.g., BS 7671).
• Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and effective communication abilities.
