Senior Electrical Engineer - Power Systems

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Electrical Engineer with a specialization in Power Systems to join their dynamic team in Aberdeen . Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop high-voltage and low-voltage electrical systems, including power distribution, protection, and control schemes.
• Conduct detailed electrical system analysis, load flow studies, and fault calculations using industry-standard software.
• Oversee the installation, commissioning, and testing of electrical equipment and systems to ensure compliance with specifications and safety standards.
• Prepare technical specifications, project documentation, and engineering reports for internal review and client submission.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including mechanical engineers and project managers, to ensure seamless project execution.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and technicians within the electrical department.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field; a Master's degree is a plus.
• Minimum of 7 years of professional experience in electrical engineering , with a strong focus on power systems design and analysis.
• Proficiency in electrical design software such as ETAP, PSS/E, or similar tools.
• In-depth knowledge of relevant industry standards, codes, and regulations (e.g., IEC, IEEE, BS 7671).
• Demonstrated experience in project management and leading engineering teams.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure in a project-driven environment.
