About the Role
Our client is seeking a dedicated and forward-thinking Senior Electrical Engineer with a specialization in renewable energy to join their growing team in Glasgow . This role is essential for driving the design and implementation of innovative electrical systems within the renewable energy sector, including solar, wind, and battery storage solutions. You will play a critical part in project delivery, ensuring the efficiency, reliability, and sustainability of our energy infrastructure. This position is based at our Glasgow facility, offering hands-on involvement with cutting-edge technology and project development.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop electrical systems for renewable energy projects, including grid connection interfaces and power conversion systems.
- Conduct performance analysis, load calculations, and feasibility studies for new renewable energy installations.
- Ensure designs comply with relevant national and international standards for renewable energy and electrical safety.
- Collaborate with project managers, site engineers, and equipment suppliers to ensure successful project execution.
- Perform site visits for assessments, installation supervision, and commissioning support when required.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex electrical issues encountered during project development and operation.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field; chartered engineer status is a plus.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical engineering, with a significant portion focused on renewable energy systems .
- Strong understanding of grid-tied inverters, energy storage systems, and power electronics.
- Familiarity with simulation tools for power systems and energy modelling.
- Excellent understanding of UK grid codes and connection requirements.
- Proven ability to manage technical aspects of projects and work effectively in a team environment.
