Senior Electrical Engineer - Smart Grids

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of electrical systems for smart grid applications, including SCADA, telemetry, and communication networks.
• Analyze grid performance data to identify areas for improvement and optimize energy flow.
• Develop strategies for integrating distributed energy resources (DERs) and electric vehicle charging infrastructure.
• Ensure all designs and implementations comply with smart grid standards and cybersecurity protocols.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software engineers and data scientists, in a fully remote setting.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers involved in smart grid projects.

Requirements

• Master's degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering with a focus on power systems or smart grids.
• 8+ years of experience in electrical engineering, with at least 4 years focused on smart grid technologies.
• Deep understanding of grid modernization, automation, SCADA systems, and DER integration.
• Experience with power system simulation tools and data analysis techniques.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills for effective remote teamwork.
• Proven ability to work autonomously and manage multiple priorities in a remote work environment.
