Senior Electrical Infrastructure Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly capable Senior Electrical Infrastructure Engineer to join their team in Derby . This role is crucial for the planning, design, and implementation of robust electrical infrastructure projects that support critical facilities and operations. You will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, safety, and efficiency of power distribution systems, substations, and associated electrical equipment. The position requires strong technical leadership, excellent project management skills, and a comprehensive understanding of infrastructure development within the utilities and industrial sectors, operating from our Derby hub with flexible working options.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and specification of electrical infrastructure, including medium and high-voltage systems, substations, and grid connections.
• Develop detailed engineering plans, drawings, and documentation for infrastructure projects.
• Oversee the installation, commissioning, and testing of electrical infrastructure components and systems.
• Conduct site surveys, risk assessments, and technical feasibility studies for proposed projects.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant industry standards, safety regulations, and environmental requirements.
• Provide expert technical support and guidance to project teams and stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field; chartered engineer status is advantageous.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in electrical infrastructure design and project engineering.
• Proven expertise in power systems, distribution networks, and substation design.
• Experience with project management methodologies and contract administration.
• Strong understanding of UK electrical regulations and standards.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and leadership capabilities.
