About the Role
Our client is looking for a proactive and experienced Senior Electrical Project Engineer to manage and deliver electrical aspects of energy projects, primarily based in Plymouth, Devon . This role involves the full project lifecycle, from conceptual design through to commissioning and handover, with a strong focus on renewable energy infrastructure. You will ensure that all electrical engineering work is executed safely, efficiently, and meets project specifications and regulatory requirements, contributing significantly to the company's commitment to sustainable energy solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the electrical design and engineering for renewable energy projects, such as wind farms and solar installations.
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources for electrical scope of work.
- Oversee the procurement, installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical equipment.
- Ensure compliance with relevant electrical codes, standards, and health and safety regulations.
- Liaise with clients, contractors, and internal stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.
- Conduct site visits and technical inspections as required for projects in Plymouth and surrounding areas.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in electrical engineering project management , preferably within the renewable energy sector.
- Strong understanding of power systems , grid connections, and electrical installation practices.
- Proficiency in project management software and electrical design tools.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Chartered Engineer (CEng) status or working towards it is advantageous.
