Job Description
Senior Electromechanical Engineer
Bath
£60,000
Are you the kind of engineer who needs to know why something isn't working, and won't leave it alone until you've fixed it?
We're looking for a hands-on Senior Electromechanical Engineer to join a highly innovative technology business developing complex medical instrumentation.
This is a proper engineering role. You'll be working across mechanics, electronics, embedded firmware and software, designing new solutions, building and testing hardware, investigating problems and improving existing technology.
You'll be joining an experienced team where you'll have real influence over the development of a sophisticated product already being used in the real world.
What you'll be doing
Designing and testing electromechanical systems
Working with sensors, actuators, microcontrollers and embedded firmware
Developing mechanical and electronic designs using SolidWorks, Altium or similar
Building, testing, fault-finding and debugging instrumentation
Investigating new technologies and how they could improve the product
Working alongside mechanical, electronics, software and manufacturing engineers
Taking engineering changes from idea through to implementation
What we're looking for
You'll be an experienced engineer from a Mechatronics, Electronics, Mechanical, Biomedical or Systems Engineering background who enjoys working across disciplines.
You'll ideally have:
Strong electromechanical design experience
Microcontroller and embedded firmware knowledge
Hands-on instrumentation development and troubleshooting experience
SolidWorks, Altium or similar CAD experience
Experience developing products involving hardware and software
Experience within medical devices or another regulated environment
You don't need to be a medical device expert. We're much more interested in finding a strong, curious engineer who can design, build, test and solve problems.
If you enjoy being close to the technology rather than simply managing it, this could be a very interesting next move.
Interested? Get in touch.
