Senior Embedded Electronics Engineer Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced Senior Embedded Electronics Engineer to join an existing R&D team and play a key role in the design, development and improvement of sophisticated electronic systems used across the product portfolio.
This is a genuinely hands‑on role spanning electronics hardware, embedded firmware, sensors, instrumentation and data acquisition.
You’ll have the opportunity to work across the full product lifecycle — from developing new concepts and prototypes through to testing, validation, manufacture and ongoing product improvement.
Senior Embedded Electronics Engineer Hours, Pay and Benefits
- £45,000 - £55,000
- 37 hours per week, 8:00am - 4.30pm Monday to Thursday, with a 1pm finish on Friday's (this is a full-time in office role)
- Benefits include: above average employer pension contribution of 6.5%, above average holiday allowance of 26 days plus bank holidays, 3 x salary life assurance, company bonus (first £3,000 is tax-free).

Senior Embedded Electronics Engineer Candidate Requirements
This role would suit an engineer who combines strong electronics hardware knowledge with genuine embedded software experience.
- Proven experience in embedded electronics and product development.
- Strong Embedded C/C++ programming and firmware development skills.
- Experience working with microcontrollers such as STM32, ARM, PIC or AVR.
- Hands‑on experience with electronic circuit and PCB design.
- Experience with sensors, instrumentation and data acquisition.
- A strong understanding of hardware/firmware integration, testing and validation.
- Experience taking products from concept and prototype through to manufacture and support.
- Experience with EMC, product compliance, calibration, production testing or component obsolescence would be an advantage.
Senior Embedded Electronics Engineer Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop electronic hardware, PCBs and embedded firmware for new and existing products.
- Develop embedded solutions for data acquisition, control and instrumentation, integrating sensors and electronic systems.
- Write and maintain Embedded C/C++ firmware, including new features, enhancements and bug fixes.
- Contribute to system architecture and new product development, taking products from concept through to manufacture.
- Lead testing, validation, debugging and fault finding, resolving issues across development, production and customer use.
- Develop solutions for manufacturing, calibration and end‑of‑line testing, while supporting component selection and obsolescence.
- Work closely with Mechanical, Electrical and Software Engineers, ensuring robust, compliant products and maintaining technical documentation.
