About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly proficient Senior Embedded Software Engineer to join their dynamic, remote-first engineering team. This pivotal role focuses on the design, development, and maintenance of embedded software for innovative products. You will be instrumental in shaping the future of our technology by creating robust, efficient, and scalable software solutions. Working closely with hardware engineers and other software developers in a collaborative virtual environment, you will tackle complex challenges and contribute significantly to project success from conception to deployment.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, test, and maintain embedded software for microcontrollers and embedded systems.
Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code in C/C++ for real-time applications.
Collaborate with hardware engineers to define system requirements and specifications.
Develop and implement device drivers and middleware for various hardware platforms.
Participate in code reviews and contribute to the continuous improvement of software development processes.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex software defects and performance issues in a remote setting.

Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum of 6 years of professional experience in embedded software development .
Strong proficiency in C/C++ programming and software design principles.
Experience with real-time operating systems (RTOS) such as FreeRTOS or Zephyr.
Familiarity with embedded debugging tools and techniques (e.g., JTAG, logic analyzers).
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, suited for a remote work environment.
