Senior Employment Lawyer

About the Role

Our client is seeking an accomplished Senior Employment Lawyer to lead their employment law practice on a fully remote basis, serving clients across the Bristol, South West England, UK and beyond. This senior position involves providing expert advice on all aspects of employment law to businesses, including complex tribunal claims, HR matters, and strategic workforce planning. You will have the autonomy to build and manage your client relationships and caseload, operating within a progressive firm that embraces remote working as a core strategy. This role is ideal for a seasoned professional seeking independence and the ability to shape their own practice.

Key Responsibilities

• Advise employers on a wide range of employment law issues, including disciplinary procedures, grievances, and performance management.
• Represent clients in employment tribunals and higher courts, handling complex litigation.
• Draft and review employment contracts, policies, and settlement agreements.
• Provide strategic advice on redundancy programs, TUPE regulations, and business reorganizations.
• Develop and deliver training to clients on employment law best practices.
• Manage and mentor more junior members of the employment law team remotely.

Requirements

• A qualified solicitor or barrister with substantial post-qualification experience (8+ years) in employment law.
• Demonstrated expertise in handling complex employment tribunal claims and advisory work for businesses.
• In-depth knowledge of UK employment legislation and case law.
• Excellent negotiation, advocacy, and drafting skills.
• Proven ability to develop and maintain strong client relationships.
• Comfortable working autonomously and managing a remote caseload effectively.
