About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Energy Policy Advisor to provide expert guidance on energy-related legislation, regulations, and government initiatives from their base in Nottingham . Key Responsibilities

• Monitor, analyze, and report on UK and international energy policy developments , including those related to renewables, carbon capture, and grid modernization.
• Develop policy positions and recommendations for the company, ensuring alignment with business objectives and regulatory requirements.
• Engage with government departments, regulators, and industry associations to represent the company's interests.
• Prepare policy briefings, consultation responses, and reports for senior management.
• Advise project teams on the policy implications of their activities and strategies.
• Support the development and implementation of corporate sustainability and decarbonization strategies.

Requirements

• Extensive experience in energy policy analysis and advocacy, preferably within the energy sector or government.
• Strong understanding of the UK's energy market, regulatory framework, and climate change policies.
• Excellent research, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
• Superb written and verbal communication abilities, with experience in presenting complex information to diverse audiences.
• Proven ability to build relationships and effectively engage with stakeholders at various levels.
• Degree in Public Policy, Economics, Law, Environmental Science, or a related field.
