About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly motivated Senior Energy Storage Engineer to join their innovative, fully remote technical team. This role is central to developing and deploying advanced energy storage solutions that enhance grid stability, integrate renewable energy, and provide grid services. You will lead design efforts, conduct feasibility studies, and oversee the implementation of battery energy storage systems (BESS). Working remotely from anywhere in the UK, you will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of engineers, project managers, and data scientists to push the boundaries of energy storage technology and contribute significantly to a cleaner, more reliable energy future. Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design, engineering, and technical specification of battery energy storage systems (BESS).
- Conduct feasibility studies, site assessments, and techno-economic analyses for energy storage projects.
- Develop and implement control strategies and software for BESS performance optimization.
- Oversee the procurement, installation, commissioning, and testing of storage systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate storage solutions with renewable generation and grid infrastructure, maintaining effective remote communication .
Requirements
- Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in the design and deployment of energy storage systems .
- In-depth knowledge of battery chemistries, power conversion systems, and grid integration requirements.
- Proficiency with simulation tools (e.g., MATLAB/Simulink) and project management methodologies.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and virtual collaboration skills.
