About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and strategic Senior Energy Trader to join their dynamic trading desk in Liverpool . This role is integral to optimizing the financial performance of the company's energy portfolio by actively trading electricity, gas, and other related commodities in wholesale markets. You will leverage deep market knowledge, analytical skills, and risk management expertise to execute profitable trading strategies. Key Responsibilities

• Execute physical and financial trades for electricity, natural gas, and related derivatives across various European markets.
• Monitor market dynamics, news, and trends to identify trading opportunities and risks.
• Develop and implement sophisticated trading strategies to maximize profit and manage risk exposure.
• Analyze market data, weather forecasts, and power plant schedules to inform trading decisions.
• Collaborate with risk management teams to ensure adherence to trading limits and policies.
• Maintain relationships with brokers, exchanges, and other market participants.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in energy trading or a related financial trading role.
• Proven track record of successful trading in wholesale electricity and gas markets.
• Strong understanding of commodity markets, derivatives, and risk management principles.
• Excellent analytical, quantitative, and decision-making skills under pressure.
• Proficiency with trading platforms and market data analysis tools.
