Senior Estimator – Stevenage, Hertfordshire

We are recruiting for a well-established regional contractor based near Stevenage. They are looking for a Senior Estimator to join their preconstruction team, working on new build, refurbishment, alteration and fit-out projects up to £20m across education, healthcare, community, industrial, leisure, retail and commercial sectors.

The Role

You will prepare cost plans, tenders and estimates, taking the lead on pricing projects and working closely with design, commercial and operational teams. The role would suit an experienced Estimator looking for a stable position with a respected contractor and a steady pipeline of work.

Working hours are 8.30 am – 5 pm with one hour for lunch.

Responsibilities

• Preparing cost plans, tenders and estimates
• Leading the estimating process across multiple projects
• Working closely with design, commercial and operational teams
• Liaising with supply chain partners to secure competitive pricing
• Supporting junior team members where required

About You

• Experienced Estimator within the construction industry
• Background working for a main contractor on new build or refurbishment schemes
• Self‑directed, organised and highly motivated
• Able to manage deadlines and work across more than one tender at a time
• Comfortable dealing with colleagues, clients and the supply chain
