Senior Exploration Geologist - Greenfield Projects

About the Role

Our client is looking for an accomplished Senior Exploration Geologist to lead their greenfield exploration initiatives, based in the Sunderland area. This role is central to discovering new mineral resources, involving extensive field work, data analysis, and strategic planning. You will be responsible for identifying prospective areas, designing and executing exploration programs, and managing project budgets and timelines to maximize the chances of successful discoveries. Key Responsibilities

• Identify and evaluate potential mineral targets using a variety of geological datasets and exploration techniques.
• Design, manage, and execute field-based exploration programs, including mapping, sampling, and drilling campaigns.
• Interpret geological, geochemical, and geophysical data to define prospective zones and assist in resource estimation.
• Manage exploration budgets, timelines, and contractor relationships effectively.
• Prepare comprehensive geological reports, presentations, and recommendations for management and stakeholders.
• Ensure adherence to all health, safety, and environmental protocols during field operations in Sunderland and beyond.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Geology, Economic Geology, or a related geoscience field.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in mineral exploration, with a focus on greenfield projects.
• Proven success in identifying and delineating new mineral deposits (specify commodity if applicable, e.g., gold, copper).
• Strong understanding of structural geology, stratigraphy, and ore deposit models.
• Proficiency in geological mapping software and data analysis tools.
