Senior Exploration Geologist

About the Role

Our client is actively seeking a highly motivated Senior Exploration Geologist to join their team in Edinburgh . This role focuses on identifying and evaluating new mineral prospects through field work, data analysis, and geological modeling. You will play a key part in the company's growth strategy, contributing to the discovery of valuable resources. The hybrid nature of this role allows for flexible working arrangements, combining essential fieldwork with office-based analysis and reporting in Scotland's capital.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and execute geological field programs, including mapping and sampling.
• Interpret geological, geochemical, and geophysical data to identify potential exploration targets.
• Develop and manage 3D geological models to guide exploration efforts.
• Coordinate and supervise drilling programs, ensuring accurate core logging and data acquisition.
• Prepare technical reports, presentations, and budgets for exploration projects.
• Collaborate with other geoscientists and engineers to advance projects from discovery to resource definition.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Geology or a related Earth Science discipline.
• At least 6 years of experience in mineral exploration geology , with a proven record of discoveries.
• Proficiency in geological mapping, database management, and GIS software.
• Experience with various exploration techniques and their application.
• Strong understanding of deposit mineralogy and genetic models.
• Excellent report writing and communication skills for stakeholder engagement.
