About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Fibre Optic Engineer to join their expanding team in Bradford, West Yorkshire . This critical role involves the design, implementation, and optimisation of advanced fibre optic networks that form the backbone of modern telecommunications. You will lead complex projects, troubleshoot intricate technical issues, and provide expert guidance to junior engineers, ensuring the highest standards of network performance and reliability. Key Responsibilities

• Design and architect scalable fibre optic network solutions, including network topology, component selection, and route planning.
• Oversee the installation, splicing, testing, and commissioning of fibre optic cables and associated equipment.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex fibre optic network faults, utilizing advanced diagnostic tools and techniques.
• Conduct performance analysis and optimisation of existing fibre networks to enhance capacity and reduce latency.
• Develop and implement network resilience strategies to ensure business continuity.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to a team of fibre optic technicians and engineers.
• Ensure adherence to industry standards, safety regulations, and quality control procedures throughout all projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field, or equivalent industry experience.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in fibre optic network design and deployment.
• Expertise in fibre optic technologies, including GPON, FTTx, and DWDM systems.
• Proficiency with fibre optic test equipment (OTDR, fusion splicers) and interpretation of results.
• Strong understanding of network protocols and management systems.
• Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and project management skills.
