About the Role

Our client, a renowned film production house in Coventry , is seeking a highly skilled Senior Film Sound Editor to join their post-production team. This role is crucial in shaping the auditory experience of feature films, documentaries, and commercials. You will be responsible for editing and mixing dialogue, sound effects, and music to create immersive and compelling soundtracks. The ideal candidate possesses a keen ear for detail, a deep understanding of audio post-production workflows, and a passion for storytelling through sound. This hybrid position offers the flexibility to balance creative work from home with essential on-site collaboration in our Coventry studios.

Key Responsibilities

• Edit and mix dialogue, ADR, foley, sound effects, and music to create final soundtracks.
• Collaborate with directors and producers to achieve the desired sonic landscape for each project.
• Maintain and organize extensive sound effects libraries and project assets.
• Ensure all audio meets technical specifications and broadcast standards.
• Operate and maintain audio editing software and hardware, troubleshooting technical issues as they arise.
• Provide creative input on sound design to enhance narrative and emotional impact.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience as a Film Sound Editor or in a similar role.
• Demonstrated expertise with Pro Tools or similar industry-standard Digital Audio Workstations (DAWs).
• Strong understanding of acoustics, signal flow, and mixing techniques.
• Experience with sound restoration and noise reduction tools.
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• A Bachelor's degree in Film Production, Audio Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
