Senior Financial Accountant (Remote)

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced and motivated Senior Financial Accountant to join their team on a fully remote basis, supporting operations across the UK. This is a critical role responsible for overseeing the preparation of financial statements, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and providing strategic financial insights. You will play a key role in month-end and year-end closing, managing complex accounting issues, and working closely with internal and external stakeholders. The ideal candidate will be a proactive problem-solver, adept at working independently and managing their workload effectively in a remote setting, contributing significantly to the company's financial accuracy and compliance efforts.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the preparation of statutory financial statements under UK GAAP and IFRS.
• Manage the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Oversee balance sheet reconciliations and investigate any significant variances.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards, tax regulations, and statutory requirements.
• Provide technical accounting advice and support to the wider finance team and business units.
• Liaise effectively with external auditors throughout the audit process.

Requirements

• Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with significant post-qualification experience.
• Proven track record in financial accounting, including statutory reporting and complex accounting areas.
• In-depth knowledge of UK GAAP and IFRS.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret financial data effectively.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to manage relationships remotely.
