About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and diligent Senior Financial Accountant to join their dynamic team in London . This pivotal role will involve overseeing critical financial reporting processes, ensuring compliance with UK GAAP and IFRS, and contributing to strategic financial planning. The ideal candidate will possess a strong analytical mindset and a proven ability to manage complex accounting tasks within a fast-paced corporate environment, playing a key part in maintaining the integrity and accuracy of the company's financial statements, working collaboratively with internal and external auditors, and supporting various finance transformation initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with UK GAAP and IFRS .
Manage the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring all deadlines are met.
Perform detailed variance analysis and provide insightful commentary on financial performance.
Oversee balance sheet reconciliations and ensure the accuracy of general ledger entries.
Support the implementation and maintenance of internal controls to safeguard company assets.
Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and ad-hoc financial projects as required by management.

Requirements

Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with a minimum of 3 years post-qualification experience.
Proven experience in financial accounting, reporting, and statutory compliance within the UK .
In-depth knowledge of IFRS and UK GAAP accounting standards.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication abilities.
