About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced and diligent Senior Financial Accountant to join their dynamic team in London . This pivotal role will involve overseeing critical financial reporting processes, ensuring compliance with UK GAAP and IFRS, and contributing to strategic financial planning. The ideal candidate will possess a strong analytical mindset and a proven ability to manage complex accounting tasks within a fast-paced corporate environment, playing a key part in maintaining the integrity and accuracy of the company's financial statements, working collaboratively with internal and external auditors, and supporting various finance transformation initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with UK GAAP and IFRS .
- Manage the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring all deadlines are met.
- Perform detailed variance analysis and provide insightful commentary on financial performance.
- Oversee balance sheet reconciliations and ensure the accuracy of general ledger entries.
- Support the implementation and maintenance of internal controls to safeguard company assets.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and ad-hoc financial projects as required by management.
Requirements
- Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with a minimum of 3 years post-qualification experience.
- Proven experience in financial accounting, reporting, and statutory compliance within the UK .
- In-depth knowledge of IFRS and UK GAAP accounting standards.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication abilities.
