Senior Financial Controller

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Financial Controller to oversee financial operations in Bristol . This hybrid role is responsible for managing the accounting department, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting, and driving operational efficiencies. You will play a key role in budgeting, forecasting, internal controls, and compliance, working closely with senior management to support strategic business objectives. The hybrid arrangement allows for essential team collaboration while offering the convenience of remote work for focused tasks.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of the accounting function, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll.
• Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with relevant accounting standards (e.g., GAAP, IFRS).
• Develop and implement internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure financial integrity.
• Lead the budgeting and forecasting processes, working closely with department heads.
• Oversee external audits and ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements.
• Analyze financial data to provide insights and support strategic decision-making.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; a professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA) is essential.
• 7+ years of progressive experience in accounting and financial management roles.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and internal controls.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
