About this job
- Remote/Hybrid, UK Salary: £60,000 - £80,000 Location: Remote About the Role: An established and growing fire safety consultancy is looking to appoint an experienced Senior Fire Engineer to support a diverse range of residential and commercial projects across the UK. The company provides a full suite of fire safety services, including fire strategies, fire engineering consultancy, FRAEW and EWS1 assessments, and fire risk assessments.
Having started with a focus on external wall work, they have since expanded to deliver a complete fire engineering offering.
They operate as a small, agile consultancy, sitting between large corporate firms and smaller niche practices.
This allows them to deliver technically robust work quickly, while maintaining strong, long-term relationships with clients.
This position will suit a qualified fire engineer with several years of experience in a commercial consultancy environment who is comfortable leading on projects and supporting junior members of the team.
Responsibilities: The Senior Fire Engineer will:
- Lead and deliver fire strategies, fire engineering designs, and FRAEW/EWS1 assessments
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, maintaining technical and regulatory standards
- Provide mentoring and support to junior and graduate engineers
- Liaise directly with clients, design teams, and approving authorities to deliver compliant solutions
- Work largely remotely, with occasional site and client meetings as required
- Take ownership of project delivery to help free up the Technical Director for strategic oversight On Offer:
- Flexible working structure - 28 days annual leave plus Christmas shutdown
- Option for additional unpaid leave if needed
- Remote-first working model with close collaboration via Teams
- Genuine autonomy and responsibility on projects
- Opportunity to shape processes and influence company direction as part of a small, growing team Candidate Requirements:
- Degree in Fire Engineering or a closely related discipline
- Chartered or working towards Chartered Engineer status (preferred but not essential)
- Proven experience in a commercial fire engineering consultancy environment
- Strong understanding of fire strategy development, codes, and standards
- Ability to lead projects and communicate effectively with clients and stakeholders
- UK-based (client is unable to offer sponsorship)
