Senior Formulation Scientist - Pharmaceuticals

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced and innovative Senior Formulation Scientist to lead drug product development efforts within their remote-first organization. This role focuses on designing, developing, and optimizing stable, effective, and patient-friendly pharmaceutical dosage forms. You will leverage your deep scientific knowledge to tackle complex formulation challenges, from early-stage concept development through to scale-up and technology transfer. Working collaboratively with cross-functional teams, you will play a critical role in advancing the company's pipeline and ensuring the successful commercialization of new medicines, all while enjoying the flexibility of a remote work environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and execute formulation development studies for various dosage forms (e.g., oral solid, parenteral, topical).
• Characterize drug substances and excipients, and assess their compatibility and impact on formulation performance.
• Develop and optimize manufacturing processes for new drug products, ensuring scalability and robustness.
• Conduct stability studies and interpret data to determine shelf-life and storage conditions.
• Prepare detailed formulation development reports, technical summaries, and regulatory submission documents.
• Collaborate closely with analytical development, process engineering, and project management teams.

Requirements

• Ph.D. or Master's degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Pharmaceutics, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in pharmaceutical formulation development.
• Proven track record in developing a range of dosage forms and successfully transferring formulations to manufacturing.
• In-depth knowledge of drug delivery systems, excipient functionality, and material science.
• Experience with solid-state characterization techniques and analytical methods.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work autonomously in a remote setting.
