About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Formulation Scientist to join their pharmaceutical development team in Bradford, West Yorkshire . This role is crucial for the design, development, and optimization of innovative dosage forms for new drug candidates. You will be responsible for leading formulation projects, conducting pre-formulation studies, and ensuring the successful scale-up and technology transfer of pharmaceutical products. Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development of novel pharmaceutical formulations (e.g., tablets, capsules, injectables) for small molecules and biologics.
- Conduct pre-formulation studies, including solubility, stability, and compatibility assessments.
- Design and execute experiments to optimize formulation parameters, drug release profiles, and manufacturing processes.
- Utilize various analytical techniques to characterize formulated products and assess their performance.
- Oversee technology transfer activities to manufacturing sites and support regulatory submissions.
- Mentor junior scientists and contribute to the continuous improvement of formulation development practices.
Requirements
- M.Sc. or Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in pharmaceutical formulation development .
- In-depth knowledge of dosage form design, drug delivery systems, and excipient functionality.
- Experience with analytical techniques such as DSC, TGA, XRPD, and dissolution testing.
- Familiarity with cGMP requirements and regulatory guidelines for drug product development.
