Senior Front-End Engineer

About the Role

Our client is looking for an experienced Senior Front-End Engineer to join their dedicated technology team based in Derby . In this critical role, you will be responsible for developing and implementing user-facing features for their cutting-edge web applications. You will collaborate closely with UI/UX designers and back-end engineers to deliver high-quality, scalable, and performant software solutions. This position requires a strong technical aptitude, a passion for clean code, and the ability to contribute to architectural decisions within an agile development environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable code for front-end applications using modern JavaScript frameworks.
• Translate UI/UX design wireframes and mockups into functional, high-quality code.
• Collaborate with back-end engineers to integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic.
• Optimize application components for maximum speed, scalability, and responsiveness across various devices and browsers.
• Participate actively in code reviews, providing constructive feedback to peers and ensuring adherence to coding standards.
• Troubleshoot and debug issues, implementing effective solutions to maintain application stability.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional experience in front-end development .
• Strong proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript (ES6+).
• Expertise in at least one modern JavaScript framework such as React, Angular, or Vue.js.
• Solid understanding of responsive design, web performance optimization, and cross-browser compatibility .
• Experience with build tools (e.g., Webpack, Parcel) and version control systems (e.g., Git).
• Ability to work collaboratively in an office-based team in Derby and contribute to technical discussions.
