Senior Frontend Developer - UX Focused

About the Role

Our client is seeking a creative and skilled Senior Frontend Developer with a strong focus on User Experience (UX) to join their team in Portsmouth . You will be responsible for translating complex design concepts into intuitive and engaging user interfaces across their web applications. This role requires a deep understanding of modern frontend technologies, a keen eye for detail, and a passion for building seamless and accessible user journeys. You will work closely with UX designers, product managers, and backend engineers in a collaborative hybrid work setting to deliver exceptional digital products.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement high-quality, responsive user interfaces using modern JavaScript frameworks (e.g., React, Angular, Vue.js).
• Translate UI/UX design wireframes and mockups into clean, efficient, and maintainable code.
• Optimize applications for maximum speed, scalability, and cross-browser compatibility.
• Collaborate with backend developers to integrate frontend components with server-side logic and APIs.
• Ensure adherence to accessibility standards (WCAG) and best practices for user-centric design.
• Conduct code reviews, mentor junior frontend developers, and contribute to frontend architecture decisions.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Design, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• 5+ years of professional experience in frontend development, with a demonstrable portfolio of UX-focused projects.
• Expertise in HTML5, CSS3, and modern JavaScript (ES6+).
• Strong experience with at least one major JavaScript framework (React, Angular, or Vue.js).
• Familiarity with frontend build tools, version control (Git), and testing frameworks.
• Excellent communication skills and experience working in a hybrid environment in Portsmouth .
