Senior Frontend Developer

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and visionary Senior Frontend Developer to join their fully remote engineering team, based anywhere in the UK, with a primary focus on contributing to their operations supporting the Cambridge tech hub. You will be responsible for architecting and building scalable, high-performance user interfaces that define the user experience for their flagship products. This role demands a deep understanding of modern frontend technologies, best practices, and the ability to lead by example in a collaborative, remote-first environment. You will play a crucial role in mentoring junior developers and driving technical excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain complex, responsive, and accessible user interfaces using modern JavaScript frameworks (e.g., React, Vue.js, Angular).
• Collaborate with UI/UX designers, product managers, and backend engineers to deliver seamless user experiences.
• Optimize application performance, ensuring fast load times and smooth interactions across all devices and browsers.
• Write clean, efficient, well-documented, and thoroughly tested code.
• Lead code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and mentor junior frontend developers.
• Champion best practices in frontend development, including accessibility, security, and performance.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional experience as a Frontend Developer or similar role.
• Expertise in modern JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, and CSS3.
• Deep experience with at least one major frontend framework (React, Vue.js, or Angular).
• Strong understanding of state management, build tools (Webpack, Babel), and testing frameworks.
• Experience with RESTful APIs and asynchronous programming.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and a passion for building exceptional user experiences.
