About the Role

Our client is searching for a highly skilled and experienced Senior Game Programmer to join their innovative development studio in Manchester . You will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and optimizing core gameplay systems and engine features for upcoming titles. This position demands a deep understanding of C++ and game development principles, along with a passion for creating seamless and engaging player experiences. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain robust, high-performance gameplay systems and engine features using C++.
• Collaborate with designers to translate game mechanics and features into functional code.
• Optimize code for performance, memory usage, and scalability across target platforms.
• Participate in code reviews, providing constructive feedback to peers and junior programmers.
• Troubleshoot and debug complex technical issues throughout the development cycle.
• Contribute to architectural decisions and advocate for best practices in software engineering.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional experience in game programming , with a strong focus on C++.
• Proven track record of shipping one or more commercial game titles.
• Solid understanding of game engine architecture, mathematics, and physics.
• Experience with performance profiling and optimization techniques.
• Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git, Perforce).
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
