About the Role

Our client, a dynamic studio renowned for its narrative-driven games, is seeking a Senior Game Writer to join their talented team in Coventry . You will be instrumental in crafting compelling storylines, engaging characters, and immersive dialogue that defines the player experience. This role offers the chance to contribute to visually stunning and critically acclaimed titles, working within a collaborative hybrid environment where creativity and storytelling are paramount. You'll collaborate closely with designers and artists to weave narrative seamlessly into the core mechanics and world-building of our upcoming projects, ensuring a cohesive and impactful player journey.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and write engaging narratives, character backstories, plot points, and in-game dialogue .
• Collaborate with level designers and other team members to integrate narrative elements effectively into gameplay.
• Create and maintain documentation for story, characters, lore, and plot progression.
• Edit and refine written content to ensure consistency in tone, style, and quality.
• Contribute to world-building and the overall creative direction of the game's narrative.
• Provide creative input during brainstorming sessions and contribute to narrative reviews.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional experience in game writing or narrative design, with a portfolio showcasing strong storytelling abilities.
• Demonstrated success in writing compelling dialogue and complex character arcs.
• Familiarity with game development processes and tools.
• Excellent command of the English language, with exceptional grammar and prose.
• Ability to work effectively in a hybrid work model , balancing remote and in-office collaboration.
• Experience with narrative design tools or scripting languages is a plus.
