Senior Geneticist - Remote

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Senior Geneticist to join their expanding, fully remote research and development team. This role is central to advancing their understanding of genetic factors influencing various diseases and developing targeted therapeutic strategies. You will lead complex genetic research projects, design experiments, and analyze large-scale genomic data. The ideal candidate will possess a deep theoretical knowledge of genetics and a strong practical understanding of modern genetic analysis techniques, coupled with the ability to work independently and contribute effectively to a virtual team. Key Responsibilities

• Design and execute genetic studies, including association studies, linkage analysis, and variant discovery using various genomic technologies.
• Analyze large-scale genetic and genomic datasets, interpreting findings related to disease mechanisms and potential drug targets.
• Develop and implement robust bioinformatic pipelines for genetic data processing, quality control, and statistical analysis.
• Collaborate with computational biologists, clinicians, and other scientists to integrate genetic insights into broader research programs.
• Prepare detailed reports, present findings at scientific meetings, and contribute to the publication of research results.
• Stay current with advancements in genomics, genetics, and relevant computational tools and methodologies.

Requirements

• Ph.D. in Genetics, Genomics, Molecular Biology, Bioinformatics, or a related field.
• A minimum of 6 years of post-doctoral or industry experience in human genetics or related research.
• Expertise in genetic analysis techniques, including GWAS, sequencing data analysis (WGS, WES), and variant interpretation.
• Proficiency in statistical genetics and the use of relevant software packages (e.g., PLINK, R).
• Experience with bioinformatics tools and databases relevant to genetic research.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple research projects effectively in a remote environment.
