Senior Geologist - Exploration & Development

About the Role

Our client, a dynamic entity within the oil and gas industry , is seeking an accomplished Senior Geologist to join their team, operating on a fully remote basis from anywhere in the UK . This role is crucial for identifying and evaluating new exploration opportunities and supporting the development of existing assets. You will interpret geological data, build subsurface models, and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to maximize resource discovery and extraction. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated geologist to leverage their expertise in a flexible, remote-first work environment, contributing to significant projects and driving geological understanding.

Key Responsibilities

• Interpret geological data from seismic surveys, well logs, and core samples to define subsurface structures and stratigraphy.
• Construct and maintain 3D geological models for exploration and development purposes.
• Evaluate prospectivity and estimate hydrocarbon volumes for potential projects.
• Collaborate with reservoir engineers and geophysicists to integrate geological interpretations with other subsurface data.
• Prepare detailed geological reports and presentations for management and stakeholders.
• Provide geological input for drilling operations and well planning.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Geology or a related Earth Science field; Master's degree preferred.
• Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience as a Geologist in the oil and gas sector , with a strong emphasis on exploration.
• Proficiency with geological modeling software (e.g., Petrel, GeoGraphix, Kingdom).
• Strong understanding of sedimentology, stratigraphy, and structural geology.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and teamwork skills, essential for a remote role.
