Senior Geologist - Exploration

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and dedicated Senior Geologist to spearhead crucial exploration projects within the Aberdeen region. This pivotal role involves leading geological surveys, analyzing subsurface data, and identifying viable mineral and resource deposits. Key Responsibilities

• Plan and execute geological exploration programs, including field mapping, sampling, and data acquisition.
• Analyze and interpret geophysical, geochemical, and drilling data to define resource potential.
• Develop and manage geological models and resource estimations using industry-standard software.
• Prepare detailed technical reports, presentations, and recommendations for senior management and stakeholders.
• Supervise junior geologists and field technicians, providing guidance and mentorship.
• Collaborate with engineering and environmental teams to ensure safe and responsible exploration practices.

Requirements

• Master's degree or PhD in Geology, Geosciences, or a related field.
• Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in mineral exploration or mining geology.
• Proven expertise in geological modeling software (e.g., Leapfrog, Vulcan, Datamine).
• Strong understanding of various exploration techniques and methodologies relevant to Aberdeen 's geological context.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to remote field sites.
