Senior Geologist - Exploration

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced and motivated Senior Geologist to join their dynamic exploration team based in Aberdeen, Scotland . This pivotal role involves leading geological surveys, data analysis, and resource assessment for new and existing mining projects. You will play a critical role in identifying promising mineral deposits and ensuring the geological viability of our operations. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of geological principles and a proven track record in mineral exploration, contributing significantly to the company's strategic growth and operational success in the challenging North Sea region.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed geological mapping and sample analysis to identify potential mineral deposits.
• Interpret seismic, borehole, and geophysical data to define ore body characteristics and extent.
• Develop and manage exploration programs, including budget and resource allocation.
• Prepare comprehensive geological reports, resource estimates, and feasibility studies for stakeholders.
• Collaborate with engineering and environmental teams to ensure safe and sustainable mining practices.
• Mentor junior geologists and provide technical guidance throughout exploration projects.

Requirements

• Master's degree or PhD in Geology, Geophysics, or a related field.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in mineral exploration and geological modeling.
• Proficiency in geological software packages (e.g., ArcGIS, Leapfrog, ioGAS).
• Strong understanding of sedimentary and igneous rock formations relevant to resource deposits.
• Experience with data acquisition, processing, and interpretation for various exploration targets.
• Excellent report writing and presentation skills.
