Senior Geologist - Exploration

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior Geologist to join their dynamic exploration team based in London . This pivotal role will involve leading geological surveys, analyzing complex datasets, and developing exploration strategies for new mining opportunities across various regions. The successful candidate will play a crucial part in identifying and assessing the viability of mineral deposits, contributing directly to the company's growth and success. You will collaborate with a team of dedicated geologists, geophysicists, and engineers, leveraging cutting-edge technology and geological principles to uncover valuable resources.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage geological exploration projects from inception to completion.
• Conduct detailed field mapping, sampling, and data collection in potentially challenging environments.
• Analyze and interpret geophysical, geochemical, and drilling data to identify and delineate mineralized zones.
• Develop and refine geological models and resource estimates using industry-standard software.
• Prepare comprehensive geological reports, presentations, and technical recommendations for senior management.
• Mentor junior geologists and contribute to a culture of technical excellence and safety within the team.

Requirements

• Master's degree or PhD in Geology , Economic Geology, or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in mineral exploration, with a strong focus on base metals or precious metals.
• Proficiency in geological modeling software (e.g., Leapfrog, ioGAS, Vulcan).
• Proven ability to design and execute field exploration programs, including drilling campaigns.
• Excellent understanding of geological principles, structural geology, and ore deposit formation.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex geological datasets.
