Senior Geologist

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Geologist to join their dynamic exploration team based in the London area. This pivotal role involves leading geological surveys and data analysis to identify and assess potential new mining sites. You will be instrumental in shaping the company's future resource acquisition strategy, contributing your deep expertise to critical decision-making processes. The successful candidate will work within a collaborative environment, reporting to the Head of Exploration and liaising with site engineers and project managers to ensure the viability and success of exploration projects across various geological terrains, driving innovation in subsurface analysis and resource estimation within the UK's diverse mineral landscape.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead geological investigations, including field mapping, core logging, and geochemical sampling for exploration projects.
• Analyze and interpret complex geological data from seismic surveys, boreholes, and remote sensing to identify target areas for mineralisation.
• Develop and manage geological models and resource estimations using industry-standard software.
• Prepare detailed technical reports, presentations, and recommendations for senior management and stakeholders.
• Mentor junior geologists and provide technical guidance to exploration teams in the field.
• Ensure adherence to all health, safety, and environmental regulations during exploration activities.

Requirements

• Master's degree or Ph.D. in Geology, Earth Sciences, or a related field.
• A minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in mineral exploration, with a proven track record in gold , base metals , or critical minerals.
• Proficiency in geological modeling software (e.g., Leapfrog, ArcGIS, Surpac).
• Strong understanding of structural geology, stratigraphy, and economic geology principles.
• Experience in conducting and supervising field exploration programs in diverse geological settings.
• Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
