Senior Geologist

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly accomplished Senior Geologist to join their pioneering, fully remote exploration and production team. This role is instrumental in identifying and evaluating new hydrocarbon prospects and optimizing the development of existing reserves through rigorous geological analysis. You will leverage cutting-edge technologies and your extensive experience to contribute to strategic subsurface decision-making. Key Responsibilities

• Interpret and integrate geological, geophysical, and petrophysical data to build and refine 3D geological models.
• Identify and evaluate potential exploration targets and assess reservoir quality and quantity.
• Develop and recommend optimal well placement and drilling strategies based on geological insights.
• Collaborate closely with reservoir engineers and geophysicists to ensure a cohesive subsurface understanding.
• Prepare detailed technical reports, presentations, and summaries for management and stakeholders.
• Stay abreast of the latest geological technologies and methodologies, advocating for their adoption where appropriate.

Requirements

• Master's degree or PhD in Geology, Earth Science, or a related field.
• Over 10 years of experience in exploration geology, with a proven track record of success in the energy sector .
• Expertise in seismic interpretation, well log analysis, and 3D geological modeling software (e.g., Petrel, GeoGraphix).
• Strong understanding of sedimentology, stratigraphy, and structural geology relevant to hydrocarbon systems.
• Experience in risk assessment and uncertainty analysis for exploration prospects.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, essential for thriving in a remote team setting.
