Senior Geophysicist - Seismic Interpretation

About the Role

Our client is seeking an accomplished Senior Geophysicist with expertise in seismic interpretation to join their team in Cambridge . This role is central to the exploration and appraisal of oil and gas assets, where you will utilize advanced seismic data processing and interpretation techniques to identify and define subsurface structures. You will collaborate closely with geologists and reservoir engineers to build a comprehensive understanding of the subsurface and de-risk exploration opportunities within the Oil & Gas industry. The successful candidate will contribute significantly to the company's exploration strategy and asset portfolio development.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality seismic data interpretation , including structural and stratigraphic analysis.
• Integrate seismic data with well logs, core data, and other geological information.
• Generate geological models and maps to support prospect evaluation and field development.
• Utilize advanced seismic attributes and processing techniques to enhance subsurface imaging.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, presenting findings and recommendations to management.

Requirements

• Master's degree or PhD in Geophysics, Earth Sciences, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in seismic interpretation within the Oil & Gas exploration sector.
• Proficiency with industry-standard seismic interpretation software (e.g., Petrel, HampsonRussell, OpendTect).
• Strong understanding of seismic processing workflows, rock physics, and quantitative interpretation.
• Excellent analytical skills and the ability to effectively communicate complex geophysical concepts.
