About the Role
Our client is seeking a talented and experienced Senior Geoscientist to bolster their exploration team in Manchester, Greater Manchester . In this crucial role, you will be responsible for the interpretation of geological and geophysical data to identify and evaluate potential hydrocarbon prospects. Your expertise will directly influence exploration strategies and contribute to the discovery of new reserves. Key Responsibilities
- Interpret seismic, well log, and other geological data to identify and delineate potential hydrocarbon plays.
- Develop and refine geological models and subsurface maps using industry-standard software.
- Conduct prospect risking and volumetric assessments to support exploration investment decisions.
- Collaborate with reservoir engineers and geophysicists to integrate multidisciplinary subsurface interpretations.
- Prepare technical reports, presentations, and recommendations for exploration opportunities.
- Stay abreast of the latest geological concepts, technologies, and methodologies in hydrocarbon exploration.
Requirements
- Master's degree or PhD in Geology, Geophysics, or a related Earth Science discipline.
- Significant experience (8+ years) in exploration geoscience, with a strong focus on seismic interpretation.
- Proficiency with geological interpretation software (e.g., Petrel, Kingdom Suite).
- Demonstrated understanding of sedimentary basins and hydrocarbon systems.
- Experience with probabilistic risk analysis and uncertainty quantification.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to communicate complex geological concepts effectively.
