About the Role
Our client seeks an experienced Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join their established consultancy firm in Bradford . This role is essential for providing expert advice on ground conditions and foundation design for a wide range of infrastructure and development projects. You will lead site investigations, analyze complex geological data, and develop robust geotechnical designs, ensuring the stability and safety of structures. The ideal candidate will possess a strong analytical mindset, excellent report-writing skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently. Key Responsibilities
- Plan and manage detailed geotechnical investigations , including desk studies, site surveys, and in-situ/laboratory testing.
- Analyze soil and rock mechanics data to assess ground conditions and potential geological hazards.
- Undertake foundation design for various structures, including buildings, bridges, and energy infrastructure.
- Prepare comprehensive geotechnical reports, interpretative studies, and design recommendations.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior geotechnical engineers.
- Liaise with clients, contractors, and regulatory bodies to ensure successful project outcomes.
Requirements
- Minimum 6 years of professional experience in geotechnical engineering , with a strong portfolio of diverse projects.
- Proficiency in geotechnical design software (e.g., Plaxis, Geo5) and data analysis.
- Thorough understanding of soil mechanics, rock mechanics, and engineering geology principles.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Geotechnical Engineering; a Master's degree is preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for client interaction and report generation.
